Jack has advised everyone from individuals to small businesses to multi-billion dollar companies on various aspects of environmental, health and safety law. As a former CERCLA litigator and later as in-house counsel for a large-scale metals mining and processing company, Jack capably guides companies through the complex regulatory schemes in this area.
Jack possesses extensive experience working directly with government agencies to address enforcement actions, respond to information requests, negotiate resolutions for alleged regulatory violations, manage permitting processes, and negotiate access agreements and memoranda of understanding, among many other government interactions. Jack has unique expertise helping clients navigate compliance with complex Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) laws, such as CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, NEPA, OSHA, and MSHA, among others. Jack has worked extensively with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Department of Justice (DOJ), United States Department of Defense (DOD), the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), among others, along with analogous State agencies in jurisdictions across the country.
